Calisthenics is a bodyweight workout inspired by "StreetWorkout". In addition to strengthening the joints, it also improves endurance, balance, agility and flexibility and it is a good addition to many forms of training, such as aerobic training. This functional training involves several muscle groups.
When we think of calisthenics we think of soldiers doing jumping jacks or street athletes doing street workouts, and you are not that far. In fact, calisthenics is a much older discipline than you might think: it dates back to ancient Greece. Abs exercises, push-ups, jumps, or other strength training exercises are calisthenics movements.
Practiced rigorously, calisthenics helps build muscle and can also be a form of aerobic training and a big time saver!
